Sati Shankar

Introduction

Sati Shankar (formerly publishing as Dr. S.S.D. Pandey) is an Indian interdisciplinary scholar, author, and Founder of the Global Synergetic Foundation. After an early career as Associate Professor of Economics, he turned in 2004 to two decades of svādhyāya—deep independent research—at the intersection of Vedic studies, Indian philosophy, the philosophy of science, and the mathematical foundations of knowledge and reality.

His forthcoming books recover foundational structures of knowledge from early Vedic sources and place them in rigorous dialogue with modern science and philosophy.

Research Profile

His scholarship connects Ṛgvedic cosmology and classical Indian systems (Sāṁkhya, Vedānta, Nyāya, Vaiśeṣika) with contemporary frameworks in the foundations of physics, complex systems, consciousness studies, formal mathematics, and artificial intelligence.

Primary textual work is grounded in the Ṛgveda and Brāhmaṇa literature, read as systematic investigations into cosmic order (Ṛta), energy (Agni), mind (manas), causality, and the ontological structure of reality—beyond purely ritual or mythological readings.

Formal tools—topology, category theory, systems theory, decision sciences—are treated as structural languages for understanding organization, causality, cognition, and knowledge itself.

Current Work & Upcoming Publications

Drawing on extensive svādhyāya, Sati Shankar is authoring a series of texts to be published through the Global Synergetic Foundation (GSFN). Projects include Vedic cosmology and process ontology, Agni as a model of cosmic energy, Ṛta and causality, the Vedic foundations of Sāṁkhya, the Vedic origins of Āyurveda, and the relationship between ancient Indian knowledge systems and contemporary scientific paradigms.

Academic Formation

Ph.D. in Decision Sciences (Mathematical Economics) and Master’s in Mathematical Methods & Econometrics, both from Banaras Hindu University. Graduated First Class First; awarded the BHU Gold Medal and the Wagle Gold Medal. Doctoral research (1991) examined Mathematical Control Systems, the Economics of Information, and psycho-physiological behavioural science, with focus on decision-making and organizational structures.
